Overview:
This self-study course is available to all beginners or anyone seeking to brush up on their Hangeul. The course makes use of Go Billy's Hangeul lessons. Members can choose to use a playlist of 14 videos or a single 90-minute video.

KSG Textbook

Overview:
This self-study course is open to all members of the server at any level. It is a beginner friendly course, starting from Hangeul and working its way up to grammar. There are two (2) KSG Textbook courses:

  • KSG Textbook - This covers the basics such as introductions, particles, conjugation, and numbers.
  • Quota: You must complete at least 3 units per month to earn a server point.


  • KSG Textbook 2 - This delves into more advanced topics such as honorifics, nominalisation, and passive verbs.
  • Quota: You must complete at least 2 units per month to earn a server point.

TTMIK Course

Overview:
This self-study course makes use of the textbook and grammar books by TalkToMeInKorean (TTMIK). Members who wish to join the course must own their own copy of both the textbook and grammar book. Before beginning the course, members must navigate to TTMIK's website and take their free level test. Whatever level they get is where they're allowed to begin. Members can choose to begin below their level as well but never above it. (For example, if my level is 5, I can choose to begin at level 5, 4, 3, 2, or 1, but not level 6.)

Quota:
2 lesson exercises + 2 workbook exercises = 1 HW. You must submit 2 HWs in order to receive a server point.

Coursera Courses

Overview:
There are three (3) available Coursera courses:

  • Beginner Coursera (6 weeks)
  • Intermediate Coursera (6 weeks)
  • Advanced Coursera (5 weeks)

Members only need to create an account on the Coursera website. Most quiz grading is done on the website. Feedback is given for any other worksheets or exercises. Some quizzes are locked and need to be paid for - KSG offers an alternative for these.

Quota:
You would have to complete and submit 2 weeks of lessons in a month to gain one server point at a time from this course. This goes for all three (3) courses. If you are in Advanced Coursera, your final week is enough to gain one server point.

Intermediate Textbook Course

Overview:
This intermediate self-study course makes use of the textbook 'Intermediate Korean: A Grammar and Workbook' by Andrew Sangpil Byon. You must own a copy of the textbook in order to join the course. The exact version is specified below.

Overview:
This self-study course is based on a YouTube playlist compiled by KSG mentoring staff on various intermediate topics. Topics are sorted into categories. Each category is accompanied by an excerise sheet made by staff which members must complete along with notes from the videos.

These courses are aimed at anyone looking to increase their vocabulary. They make use of passages and dialogues covering various topics and include exercises for each unit. There are two (2) available Vocabulary courses:
